Installation
Step 1.
Download and unzip file nanoGrabbr_v#.#.zip. In order to install NanoGrabbr, you need a hosting provider supported:
- MySQL v.3.хх or later
- PHP v.4.хх or later
And also:
- Login and password for access to the root catalog (usually "www") by ftp
- Login and password to access the mysql and already created database
All information you can get from your hosting provider.
Step 2.
Copy all the files from uncompressed folder to the root folder of your site. You can use any FTP-client, I'm using plugin FireFTP for Firefox.
Step 3.
'To start the installation it is necessary to set permissions for the file /cfg/config.php and folder /img (hereinafter paths listed on the root folder). You need to do this to allow installer to create a configuration file.
Do the same for the folder /img
Step 4.
Now you can begin the installation. Type in your browser:
http://yourdomain.name/install
Step 5
Choose the language of the installation. English or Russian
Step 6.
The installer will check several options. The result - in the first 4 rows. If you can see at least in one line NO, you need to check the correctness of previous steps.
The following action is to enter configuration for your site from your hosting-provider:
- Mysql-server adress
- mysql username
- user password
- DB name (DB should be already created!)
The following fields you fill out at their discretion. Briefly describe what is that:
- Prefix for the table names - a random selection of characters, which will be added to the name of the table in the database mysql;
- Administrator password - the password that you will use to edit the site;
- Site name - the name of the site will be displayed on the home page. For example here (http://demo.nanograbbr.com/) - it is Demo NanoGrabbr.
Step 7.
You should delete /install folder to finish installation process. Site will be unavailable until you complete this step!
Congratulation! That's it! You can start to edit your own microblog!
